Description:

This application allows you to convert Google Gadgets into eyeOS-Applications (eyePackages). As this application does nothing more than accessing a WebApp you might access the converter directly on: http://runos.h3o.de/helper/h3oGWidget/

A list of Gadgets available could be retrieved on:
http://www.google.com/ig/directory?hl=en&synd=open

In order to get a list of already converted Google Gadgets, you might add http://runos.h3o.de/ports.xml into your System Preferences->Administration->Repositories (You need to bee root to see this).

There is a minor change in the converter. Windows are do now remember there position in on the desktop.

In addtion it is possible to retrieve a list of converted gadgets by adding http://runos.h3o.de/ports.xml to your repository list.

I once made an similar app for personal use that allowed you to run iGoogle Gadgets without creating an eyepackage. You just typed the url and the gadget appeared on the desktop. The problem was you couldn't save the gadgets for later use.

I am working on a version that allows you to set the configuration optionas like the window style etc..

Regarding Source - The "converter" Webpart is opensource too. However, it is currently not written generic enough to run on each server. But if you are intressted - please send me a note and I provide you access to the source.
